III. Scholarships and Financial Considerations
SBC provides several options for students who are in need of financial assistance.
1. Scholarships
Outstanding students who have scored well in high-school exams and ranked among the top students in class, may be eligible to receive scholarships.
2. Internship Opportunities
International Students may be eligible to work for up to 20 hours per week in either the university. Most part-time internships are paid and students who work for the university will have their tuition fees discounted.
3. Exemption of the Foundation Year
In the UK, the British Degree programme only takes 3 years to complete. If non-native English language speaking students perform well in the SBC Entrance Exam, they may be exempted from taking the foundation year and enter directly into SBC Year 2 (UK Year 1 of the 3 year degree programme). This would allow for significant savings on tuition fees (To Be Confirmed) and living costs (CNY40,000).
4. Studying the whole course in Shanghai
Most students at SBC will choose to study either 1 or 2 years in the UK. If students choose to study the 3 or 4 years entirely in Shanghai, they would save up to CNY 180,000 compared to the students who study the final 2 years in UK.
